More spaced out synth prog by
R. Pinhas: "Chronolyse" & "East West"

Richard Pinhas is one of the most important French electronic space rock musicians. Following five albums with HELDON, his band, he released solo records from 1977 on. His transition to "solo" material gave the guitarist and synthesist an opportunity to work on material that was a little lighter and less constrained. "Chronolyse" was his second solo album. His first and only album to be released by a major label (CBS) was "East West". Some say it is his most commercial one, Pinhas doesn't see it that way. Form your own opinion. Out now! New QLUSTER album – ELEMENTE
Analogue sounds like 40 years ago

"Elemente" – album number seven from the third incarnation of the legendary krautronic project Kluster/Cluster springs a surprise with a minor sensation: sequencer lines! Using an array of exclusively analogue instruments, Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Onnen Bock and Armin Metz have recorded eight tracks which, at one and the same time, are intrinsically hypnotic and sublimely beautiful. In their choice of equipment, Qluster reach back to their own history as Cluster, more than forty years ago, when legendary albums like "Zuckerzeit", "Sowiesoso" and "Curiosum" were made. "Elemente" has been crafted exclusively with analogue instruments. Out now.

Rare German 80s gems compilation
SOWAS VON EGAL. Out now!

A new sampler marks the collaboration between the Hamburg record label Bureau B and the Hamburg party series Damaged Goods. The divergent trajectories of a record company on the one hand and DJs on the other are happily aligned through a love and passion for seeking out, collecting, releasing and playing rare, remarkable music which simply needs to be heard.

ALU – a missing piece to
contemporary club culture

The ALU oeuvre covers seven years of divergent creativity, yet the group's inner compass never wavers. ALU represent understated understatement, their music touching on genres such as electro, techno or IDM which would only materialize years later. Repetitive sequences sound like taut loops, their frequencies tuned to allow the original sample to shine through in skeletal fashion. "Die Vertreibung der Zeit" is more than a mere historical document – in order to understand the bigger picture of contemporary club culture, this collection of ALU songs is an essential piece of the puzzle.

Kammerflimmer Kollektief takes a trip.
11th album out now

After 20 years of Kammerflimmer Kollektief, with 10 albums thus far, the time has come to take a trip. The Karlsruhe combo guide us through seven stations in an unfathomable Terra Incognita, where a listening space emerges at the intersection of improvisation and composition, a space where certitude slips out of reach, jouncing incessantly between precision and freedom, oscillating furiously between cut-up and palimpsest — and, just when we think we may have pinned it down, disappears altogether.

LAPRE – rare electronic music
from Berlin 1983/84. Out now.

In 1983, electronic musician Rudolf Langer (Tyndall) and guitarist Peter Preuß teamed up to form a duo by the name of LAPRE (LAnger + PREuß). Aligned with the second generation of the Berlin School, their output is incredibly varied: from repetitive sequencer patterns via playfully cheerful synth pop all the way to atmospheric, hypnotic minor key expanses. More French synth space rock:
Two more HELDON albums reissued

Album no. three and four by the most important French electronic space rock band. HELDON were Richard Pinhas with a variety of guest musicians on different tracks. The third, their darkest album "It's Always Rock'n'Roll" (double vinyl/CD! 1975) lays another stone in their sonic mosaic: synths, drones, fuzz and trippy improvisations. The fourth album "Agnetha Nilsson" (1976) sees Richard Pinhas and his changing entourage of musicians delve even deeper into Heldon's sonic universe. Their trusted array of hypnotic synthesizer sounds is underscored in places by drums and/or guitar. Mind-expanding stuff. Out now! CD/vinyl/download/stream

Electronic music from Berlin 1982/83.
3rd and 4th TYNDALL album out now

The third Tyndall album "Reflexionen" is less experimental than the electronic duo's previous work "Traumland". The songs, featuring vocoder vocals, are more clearly structured into verses and choruses, the arrangements more considered. Stylistically, "Reflexionen" is a mix of synth-pop and electronic Krautrock, at times not a million miles away from the early works of Andreas Dorau.
"Durch die Zeiten", their fourth album, was marked by a deep rift. Jürgen Krehan and Rudolf Langer had fallen out to such an extent that sharing the album was out of the question. Instead, the duo divided it up, with Krehan taking the A-side and Langer the B-side. In common with its predecessors, meanwhile, the album title mirrored a central concept: "Durch die Zeiten" is a musical interpretation of various geological and humanistic eras.
Both albums are on CD for the first time!

More electronic music gems by
Dennis Young: "Synthesis" out now

Dennis Young is best known as the percussionist of the New York band LIQUID LIQUID, which is known for their piece "Cavern" from 1983, which in turn became very well known because Grandmaster Flash sampled it and used it as the basis for their hit "White Lines". But Young was more than just a member of the band, he produced plenty of his own music, much of it reflecting his passion for analog electronics. He was fascinated by the pioneers of the genre. In 2016 Bureau B released "Wave", a collection of pieces Young had issued on cassettes between 1985–1988. "Synthesis", by contrast, features tracks from 1984–1988 which have never been previously released. CD/vinyl/stream/download available now.

Milestone of French synth space rock:
First two HELDON albums reissued

Heldon were the most important French electronic space rock musicians. The band were Richard Pinhas with a variety of guest musicians on different tracks. It even features a special guest appearance by the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze reciting Nietzsche! On the second album "Allez Téia" (1975) Pinhas has formed a duo with Georges Grunblatt. The music is a fanstastic interplay of feather-light acoustic guitars, Mellotron textures, fuzzy sounds and heavy, spherical synthesizers. Out now! CD/vinyl/download/stream

TYNDALL reissued for the first time!
"Sonnenlicht" + "Traumland" out now!

The two electronic sonic inventors Jürgen Krehan and Rudolf Langer founded Tyndall in the year 1980, naming their duo after a light scattering phenomenon in physics. Armed with an impressive array of instruments, devices and home-made synthesizers, they created free and easy electronic music in the style of the Berlin School (Berliner Schule), much to the liking of the legendary Sky Records who released their debut album "Sonnenlicht" in 1980. One year later they came up with the more experimental "Traumland". Bureau B releases the four albums Tyndall have recorded. "Sonnenlicht" and "Traumland" are out now. The other two will follow later this year. These sought after gems have never been reissued before! CD/vinyl/download/stream
